Child Abuse is the physical or psychological/emotional mistreatment of
children. Yes, we can yell when we're hurt, yes we can cry. but what
the most thing is--fear. Most abused kids are scared to tell an adult
about it. Because they have been hurt, and they don't want to get even
more hurt by telling. But, it's better to tell. In 2009 CBS News
reported that child abuse in the United States had increased during the
economic reccession. Most kids being abused grow up, and abuse their
kids as how they were treated when they were younger. Terrible, isn't
it? I'm glad I come from a good home!Children who are physically abused
are likely to receive bone fractures, particularly rib fractures, and
may have a higher risk of developing cancer. April has been designated
as Child Abuse Prevention Month in the United States since 1983. Even
though it's not April, I would like to have a Walk to stop Child Abuse!


Organizations

There are organizations at the national, state, and county levels in
the United States that provide community leadership in preventing child
abuse and neglect. The National Alliance of Children's Trust Funds and
Prevent Child Abuse America are two national organizations with member
organizations at the state level.
